Rainy, Cold Saturdays
It's rainy and cold outside today- the perfect makeup for an oatmeal creation. I'm thinking of "Got the Blues". It really is such a great combo of blueberries and streusel. I always add just a little milk to mine...
Ok, so now with some nutritious food in my system, my brain has turned on.... And in my classic routine of multi-tasking, I am working on our new product launch... Visions of loaded baked potaotes have been dancing in my head as of late!
So, picture this...We have over 40 toppings for cereal, parfaits and oatmeal- How about lots of toppings for potatoes. Chorizo, cheese, sour cream and green chilis for one. Chicken, Ranch dressing, bacon and green onion for another. Truly, the list could be exhaustive!
Don't even get me started on sweet potaotes...A customer suggestion was Cinnamon Toast Crunch on top- add a little maple syrup and maybe some pecans. WOW! Nutella on a sweet potato? I'm taking that one to the test kitchen.
Stayed tuned for more scrumptious ideas....

Lazy Saturdays
Ahh, Saturday mornings.... Remembering back when I was in elementary school. Sleeping in, cartoons on the tv, and a BIG bowl of cereal. My mom always had lots and lots of boxes to choose from. She was strict about a lot of things, but luckily for me, not about the delicious, sugary coated breakfast cereals. It was like a parade of cereals sometimes. I'd have a bowl of one kind, then another, then another. But curiously enough, given my current cafe, I never mixed cereals when I was a kid...?
Does anyone remember Boo-Berry? I loved that cereal! Or Waffalos? And the most recent retraction made by General Mills-French Toast Crunch. Too bad... it was so good, and one of the primary cereals in the creation- Ooh, La, La.
Sometimes Saturday mornings called for delicious waffles-dripping with maple syrup (I remember the Mrs. Buttersworth bottle). That's why we had to incorporate these heavenly morsels at The Cereal Boxx. My ultimate favorite-Waffles with peanut butter, bananas and honey! What's yours?
